Guangdong – British Columbia Pacific Gateway Park Project

Former B.C. Premier, the Honourable Gordon Campbell attended the sod-turning ceremony of the Guangdong – British Columbia Pacific Gateway Park Project in 2006. This marked the first cooperative step between FII China and the Guangzhou Garden Bureau. Both parties signed a MOU agreement that allows for the convergence of FII China’s technical knowhow with wood materials and construction, and with Guangzhou Garden Bureau’s design expertise, in creating a unique and beautiful landscape for the park.

The wood products used in this project include Western Red Cedar, Yellow Cedar, and treated Coast Hem Fir. The project demonstrates that British Columbia’s wood products can also thrive in moisture-laden tropical air conditions that are found Guangdong Province or other South China regions.
