Located in South Goa, Juju is a fine dining restaurant that reimagines Indian cuisine through both flavor and atmosphere. While the menu promises to delight the senses, the restaurant’s identity is equally shaped by its material palette—most notably the use of Spruce-Pine-Fir (S-P-F) from British Columbia (BC).

The architectural vision, brought to life by Wheaton Design Pvt. Ltd., is guided by the principle that every project should harmonize with natural light, ventilation, and greenery. Within this approach, the warmth and natural beauty of S-P-F became central to the design.

For the project, S-P-F was used in ceiling rafters and interior fit-outs, creating a sophisticated ambiance. The choice of this species was both practical and aesthetic. S-P-F combines straight grain, a smooth texture, and dimensional stability, making it easy to process and finish. These qualities cut down on fabrication time and labour while delivering durable results for both structural and design elements alike. Sourced from responsibly managed forests in BC, S-P-F is lightweight yet strong, with a naturally bright colour that adapts beautifully to a range of finishes.

Wheaton Design credits FII India as a key partner in this and other successes. Since first collaborating in 2016, the firm has utilized BC wood in numerous high-end residential and commercial projects, supported by FII India’s technical expertise and material guidance. This ongoing partnership has built trust and confidence, enabling the creation of enduring, sustainable, and beautiful spaces. Through projects like Juju, BC wood continues to shape high-end hospitality in India, infusing each space with natural beauty and a touch of good juju.
