A Wood Frame Technical Exchange Roundtable co-organized by FII China and Pudong Construction and Transportation Commission (Pudong CTC) took place in Dream Home Canada on October 31, 2014. The event is another step in deepening wood frame technology marketing promotions cooperation as part of the Strategic Cooperation MOU signed between BC and Shanghai during the BC Forestry Mission last year, as well as the MOU signed between FII China and Pudong MOC this May.

In attendance of the event were BC Special Representative in Asia Mr. Ben Stewart, Vice Director General Tao of Pudong MOC, BCFII Chief Finance Officer Mr. Doug Greig, and FII China and Canada Wood China staff.

Approximately 30 officials and representatives from Pudong based government departments, developers, townships and villages were invited to the event, including the Pudong CTC, NDRC, Foreign Affairs Office, Bureau of Finance, Bureau of Education, Housing Security Centre, Construction Quality Inspection Station, nine major townships, and six major developers.

The roundtable gave audiences a thorough understanding of modern wood frame construction technology, its advantages, its applications in North America and development in China, with a targeted focus on its application and use in educational facilities such as kindergarten and schools. The topics were well received by audiences some among which have followed up with project consultation inquiries.
