Call for Proposals
Market Initiatives Program
The 2012/13 Market Initiatives Program Call for Proposals is now closed.
FII runs an annual Call for Proposals where forest sector organisations may apply for cost-shared funding assistance to deliver market development and diversification activities overseas. FII funding is not available for individual companies, and is intended to support collaborative activities among groups or sub-sectors of the B.C/Canadian forest industry.
Proposals are evaluated against standardized criteria to ensure they meet program eligibility requirements. An evaluation panel made up of industry experts, FII staff, and other government staff review and rank all proposals submitted through the Online Funding System. The evaluation process is monitored by the B.C. Government’s Purchasing Services Branch to confirm that the evaluation is fair, equitable, and objective.
The panel provides recommendations for funding to the Chief Executive Officer of FII for final review and decision. All proponents are advised of their evaluation outcome in February/March after the Call for Proposals is closed and FII staff will work with successful recipients to negotiate Recipient Agreements that will govern their program for that year.
FII reserves the right to modify the terms of its Call for Proposals any time at its sole discretion. This includes the right to cancel the Call for Proposals at any time prior to entering into a Contract with successful Applicants. The Call for Proposals should not be construed as an agreement to purchase goods or services or provide project funding. FII is not bound to enter into a Recipient Agreement with the Applicant who submits the lowest priced proposal, nor with any Applicant. Notwithstanding any other provision of this Call for Proposals, FII may cancel, modify or amend its Call for Proposals.
