Deputy Minister, Ministry of Jobs, Tourism and Innovation
Dana Hayden was appointed Deputy Minister of Jobs, Tourism and Innovation March 14, 2011.
Prior to this appointment Ms. Hayden served as Deputy Minister, Ministry of Forest and Range. Peceeding this, Ms. Hayden served as Deputy Minister Public Safety, Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General. In 2008, Ms. Hayden was Deputy Minister and Vice Chair, Working Roundtable on Forestry. In 2007, Ms. Hayden was interim President and CEO of the British Columbia Lottery Corporation. From 2005 to 2007 Ms. Hayden served as Deputy Minister Strategic Policy, Office of the Premier.
Ms. Hayden has held a number of other executive roles in government such as Deputy Minister and CEO of the Crown Agencies Secretariat; Assistant Deputy Minister Corporate Services for several government organizations; Vice President Policy and Planning, Forest Renewal BC; and Assistant Deputy Minister International Trade. Ms. Hayden began her career in government in 1986 as an economist in the Ministry of Forests and has worked on public policy and operational challenges across a broad range of ministries, crown agencies and in government’s central agencies.
Ms. Hayden has a B.Sc. in Forest Science, a M.Sc. in Economics and the Canadian Securities Course diploma. Ms. Hayden has two teenage sons.
